Main Project Contact: Mr Stuart Jackman
Profile: Jackweld has specialist knowledge of the Railway Industry and understanding of both the challenges in the practical implementation and management of technology to achieve true tangible improvements and in the unique constraints and requirements required of technology to perform successfully in the rugged environment. Jackweld is currently bringing to market welding technologies which will provide significant improvements to railways and the construction industry. Jackweld special strengths resides in the in depth scientific and engineering skills and also the higher level experience in delivering operational performance in the rail industry.
Role in the project / Tasks Attributed: Jackweld will be the Dissemination and Exploitation Manager, Leader of WP8. They will ensure an adequate level of dissemination of all research results and to facilitate that the public is aware of the main issues deal with in the project. They will gather of information about possible clients, they will develop a plan about how the new technology can be used in potential applications. Jackweld will do the market Research to identify business opportunities. Last, they will be partially involved in project specification (WP1) and in demonstration and large scale laboratory trials (WP7).
Previous experience relating to their role: Mr Jackman has 20 years of experience in the rail industry. Stuart has managed projects with responsibilities for inter-disciplinary and international co-ordination such as the BSRmetro maintenance contract, Network Rail Digital Mobile Mast Implementation UK wide (FTN GSMR), heavy civil on Taiwan High Speed Rail Contracts C230 and C240 (Hyder Hyundai JV), and the Landmark innovative White City Sub-surface Rail Depot London (Chelsfield) as Chief Engineer. Mr Jackman's network and contacts in the rail industry will be very valuable and important for the dissemination and exploitation task.
Benefits of participation to the project: Participation of Jackweld to the project will result in enhancement of its access to the most updated results in the rail inspection sector. They will retain the full right of use and dissemination of any project results (foreground). The consortium will benefit by Jackweld's participation because of its extensive experience in rail maintenance subjects.
Profile of Staff undertaking the job: Mr Stuart Jackman has an experience in the management of design and construction of major structural and civil infrastructure, from developing project requirement definitions with the client to managing interfaces between disciplines at the detailed design stage, thus ensuring successful project delivery. He has 20 years of experience in the rail industry where he was involved in many projects with responsibilities for inter-disciplinary and international co-ordination.
